Computational Fluid Dynamics is about solving basic physics equations of fluid mechanics and heat transfer using numerical techniques. CFD is a very powerful tool being used in Aerospace and Automotive for many years but relatively new in Building design and HVAC industry.
We use CFD to help building owners, contractors, designers in achieving aim of reducing energy consumption and carbon foot print. CFD tool with its many unique capabilities gives opportunity to design a building which uses minimum energy to provide desired comfort conditions for its occupant. CFD tools let designers optimize and finalize HVAC systems with respect to their locations, operating conditions etc. CFD is a numerical design tool in which we solve a 3D model of actual system on a workstation. This allows designers to validate their ideas before going for actual construction and most exciting part is that many design alternatives can be simulated before finalizing anything. On the other hand CFD helps in identifying effect of change of certain parameters on entire system.
